Time Marches On
There is a lot going on right now in the world, in your country and in your neighborhood. We aren’t certain which news agency to turn to, we don’t know who to trust and many of us are trying not to argue about it at home. We are finding ourselves disagreeing with our friends to and feeling alone. Here is the thing; isolation is a choice.
Yep, that’s right; you can choose to find a connection with others and get out of the home. Time stretches on in both directions and when the scholars talk of history repeating itself, they fail to point out that the good things come around as often as the bad. In the middle of AIDS, I knew there would be an end to it and answers someday; just as there were answers to COVID. We survived. What ever we end up facing now; we will make it through to the otherside.
My husband keeps having to remind me that we need to keep moving forward and I can’t just stop because of what is going on. I took a time out last year and I was sorry I did. I shouldn’t have, I should have kept pushing and gone more places. Well, I am pushing this year. I thought about my residency this year and considered my choices; I’m going through with it. I am teaching an art class in Kayenta this spring at Makespace. It is just outside of St George because, well lets face it; I have to go back for more material and the hikes. I’m dragging friends with me too. They should keep moving forward too.
No matter what is going on, there is always something happening that balances it. It might be harder to see but it is there, you just have to get outside to see. So make a choice, open the door and find a new friend. Look for a small miracle and I promise you your spirits will lift for a bit. I’ll see you down the road.
